YOU
You were only four when I entered your life.
Both of us didn't know it then,
But your momma was to become my wife.
You didn't care for it much in the beginning.
But as time went by,
You accepted all that was changing.
You were sick back then.
Dark circles under your eyes,
And dark blue skin.
In the year that your momma and I got hitched,
You went into the hospital for surgery,
And got all fixed.
After that you were full of bounce.
You had more energy than all of us,
Ounce for ounce.
Then it was sad to say,
That your grandpa went to a better place,
While you were away.
You soon learned that it was okay.
That all of us too,
Will be with GOD someday.
Grandma, eventually got tired of being alone.
She ended up married,
And moved to a new home.
But soon you thought that was cool,
Because grandma had a farm,
And paintballs too.
Then the best moment came,
When I adopted you,
And you wanted to change your name.
You shocked your momma and me,
When you decided,
That you wanted us to become three.
I, AM so proud of you.
Proud of this and that,
But mainly of you being you.
And just who might you be?
You're the best son I could ever have,
You are Cody!
